William Saliba had to leave after just 21 minutes of Thursday’s Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon, but Mikel Arteta said he believed his centre-back was only slightly injured. The former Saint-Etienne defender was not involved in Saturday’s training session, with RMC saying he will be out for several weeks.

L’Equipe (via The Sun) report that William Saliba could be out for “several weeks” with a back injury, with the defender also reportedly out of the France squad for the upcoming international break.

If that happens, William Saliba will have to leave the France squad ahead of their next Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Ireland.

Arsenal injury concerns over Crystal Palace clash

Arsenal will play Crystal Palace tomorrow, and Crystal Palace is in danger of slipping. Rob Holding is likely to replace William Saliba, who will not play again against Leeds United until April 1. However, Arteta will be able to bring in Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard. Jesus, who made his first start for the club since November, was uninjured. Trossard, on the other hand, did get injured.

The Belgium international has been a big surprise since arriving from Brighton in January. However, he is expected to be sidelined ahead of the international break due to an injury he sustained against Bournemouth earlier this month.

Trossard returns from injury

Trossard surprised everyone with his comeback against Fulham last weekend. In a very strong first half, he contributed 3 assists in the 3-0 win. The 28-year-old looked miserable at the end of Thursday’s game. He took part in all of Saturday’s practice and will try to start.

Takehiro Tomiyasu was also injured against Sporting , but Arsenal have yet to comment on his injury. The former Bologna defender left the Emirates Stadium on crutches, so the outlook isn’t looking good.

“I don’t know. Beverly looked pretty serious from his reaction and what he said to me, but obviously it’s too early,” Arteta said after his side’s penalty shoot-out loss.
