He has produced records for labels such as Run-DMC, LL Cool J, System Of A Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash and Jay-Z.
Many respect his judgment on musical matters; little is known about his political tastes. But people are labeling Rick Rubin a Trump supporter for a reason, and it goes back to November 2021.
Here’s Why People Say Rick Rubin ‘Loves’ Donald Trump
According to rapper Talib Kweli’s Instagram post, it was Rick Rubin who first convinced Kanye West to support Donald Trump.
On November 13, 2021, Kweli (who is part of the hip-hop group Black Star with Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey aka Dante Terrell Smith) wrote on Instagram about his hanging out with Kanye West (aka Ye) “finally several times”.
He said he was responding to a request from Ye himself to do so. “Kanye told me privately,” he wrote in the caption, “that he no longer supports Trump.”
“He blames his support for Trump on Rick Rubin,” Queley added. “He also said it was Rick Rubin who put him in touch with Candice Owens.”
Did Rick Rubin say or tweet anything about Donald Trump?
Possibly, kind of. Reported by Spin in July 2017 Rubin broke a three-year Twitter silence by retweeting a post from author and cartoonist Scott Adams.
He is the creator of the Dilbert comics, and Prediction Trump will win the 2016 presidential election. Adams denied that he was a Trump supporter himself, though praised what he called Trump’s “talent pool.”
He says ‘Donald Trump apologist’ hashtag Ended public speaking career, cut income by two-fifthsIt also reportedly cut his number of friends by three-quarters.
Rubin reportedly retweeted Scott Adams’ post (the tweet was not publicly viewable) is a periscope video (no longer available) provides what Spin calls a “rhetorical analysis” of the Trump-Putin meeting.
So it’s not entirely clear what Rubin thinks of Trump
As the Spin article acknowledges, Rubin has been tight-lipped about his politics. As such, it is “difficult” to know whether his retweet counts as “an endorsement, rebuttal or otherwise.”
Kweli’s account of Kanye West’s version of events as relating to Rubin’s role in guiding him to Donald Trump may lead some to believe that Rubin is actually a Trump follower.
But in lieu of anything concrete from Rubin himself, it probably means little.
Additionally, Reddit users discuss claims Rubin, who “red Leaf” and “associated him with Candace,” has been defending the music producer, saying Yeh is an “adult who still makes his own decisions regardless of the influence or advice of others.” .
Rubin to attend Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton presidential debate
Few claim to know nothing about Rubin’s politics. That’s probably how he likes it.
However, he did, take part in the first presidential debate A conversation between Trump and Hillary in 2016. It happened at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. But his presence doesn’t necessarily mean he has an interest in politics, or at least a vested interest in the outcome of the election.
What he has in common with the former president is love pro wrestling. RIYL Mag called it one of Rubin’s “favorite rhetorical dead ends.”
“It’s the most honest form of information in our society,” Rubin said. “Pro wrestling is the most accurate representation of life.” Trump, meanwhile, is a member of the WWE “Superstar” list.
