He disappeared from Texas at the hands of his ex, whom his mother Deb claimed controlled him.
Deb told News Nation Now: “He’ll tell you what to wear, what to wear with him, what you should look like, and no makeup if you’re alone.”
“I told him that if he hurt her, he would kill him. That’s where we ended up.”
Typhenie was last seen talking to ex-boyfriend Chris Reville outside her Fort Worth apartment on a fall afternoon in October 2016.
Her aunt Janelle Hofeldt said: “I’m very jealous of Typhenie.
“Typhenie and I talked about Chris.
“If things don’t go his way, it’s Tephini’s fault and always Tephini’s fault.”
After six months of dating, Typhenie ended the relationship.
Sergeant John Phillips
Chief detectives are looking at a 90-minute window, Sergeant John Phillips said.
He said: “This is a missing person. It could be a kidnapping. It all depends on their relationship.”
“Once we started interviewing Chris, yes, we knew (it was him).
“We know he was misleading about specific events because of his answers to questions, which leads us to suspect something bad happened to Typhenie.”
Revell was arrested that night and was convicted of aggravated kidnapping in 2019.
He was sentenced to life in prison after he was also linked to the disappearance of a second ex-girlfriend, Talibaah Islam, 20, who also disappeared from Fort Worth in 2006.
Phillips said: “I can tell you emotionally that I envisioned it with many of the detectives involved in this case.
“I mean, they’ve become inseparable because of the circumstances of her disappearance.”
Police believe Revell killed the two women and hid their bodies in a wooded area, but no evidence has been found.
