Who is Ron Donaldson?

Earlier on Wednesday, a man was arrested on charges that he shot a woman in the head, causing her death on Tuesday.

Ron Adam Donaldson, 43, of Miami Beach, faces second-degree murder charges. Police said the victim’s murder was captured on surveillance video.

According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, who is also a spokesman for the police department, police were called to the North West just before 7:10 a.m. Tuesday after a report of a body found in an alley. The 26th Avenue and 95th Street area responded.

Donaldson’s arrest report said he and the victim arrived in an area known for prostitution shortly after 6:30 a.m. in a gray sedan registered to the suspect.

Police said the car was parked in the alley for about 26 minutes before the front passenger door opened and the victim fell out of the car, half-naked.

Donaldson, who also appeared to be naked, got off the passenger side, grabbed the victim as he tried to get up, and shot him in the head, according to the arrest report.

He then fled the scene in a car, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers later identified the victim as Wendy Daniel.

“From what I saw before the police came and put up the tarp, she was a young woman, probably Hispanic. She didn’t have a bottom, just a top,” a woman who works near her told Local 10 News.

The woman said she was first alerted to the shooting by a customer before 7 a.m.

“I think it happened between 6:30 and 7:00,” she said. “A young gentleman on his way to work came in and told me he heard a young woman screaming and heard gunshots.”

The woman said the man said he heard gunshots.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Donaldson was later found and found in his Miami Beach apartment, according to the arrest report. He was taken to Miami-Dade police headquarters for questioning, but he exercised his right to remain silent until a lawyer was available.
