Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Who Rick Schnell Is
It is predicted that Michael Jordan, star of the Chicago Bulls and arguably the greatest player of all time, will sell the majority of his stake in the Charlotte Hornets.
He will sell the team to an ownership group led by Rick Schnell and Gabe Plotkin.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, here’s what the deal was:
Sources say no deal will be struck anytime soon, but a deal that would eventually see Plotkin and Schnell as co-managers of the Hornets is gaining momentum. If the deal goes through, Jordan is expected to retain a minority stake in the team. “

Rick Schnall and Gabriel Plotkin are expected to take over soon, even though arrangements have not yet been finalized.
Rick Schnall is a partner in the $526 million investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. The business represents numerous industries. Based in New York and London, CD&R’s investment specialists include individuals with corporate finance and company management skills.
He spent 27 years at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice as a member of the executive and investment committees. He is in charge of the organization’s financial services and technology divisions, according to the company’s official website.
Prior to joining Dubilier & Rice, Rick Schnall worked at Smith Barney & Co. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Born in 1970, Schnell holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Schnall was born into a Jewish family, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School, and worked at Smith Barney and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette after graduation. In 1996, he joined Clayton Dubilier & Rice, eventually becoming a partner in charge of acquisitions and sales. His uncle was named Carl Icahn.
Schnell was part of the buying group that bought the Atlanta Hawks for $850 million in 2015. Orchestra members include Steven Price, Grant Hill, Sarah Blakely, Jesse Itzler and Tony Ressler.
Schnell is a resident of New York. He’ll be in charge of the Hornets as they struggle to find a solution. They will be hoping to turn things around quickly after previous seasons have been disappointing.
Ownership of the Hornets will be split evenly between Plotkin and Schnall, both of whom have worked hard to make it happen. If all goes well, Jordan will receive a little over $1.5 billion in revenue, and the new owner will undertake the rebuilding of the team.
