Who is Randall Wooster?

The stepfather of a man brutally beaten by three Arkansas police officers said he hopes they are “exhausted” as they plan to file a lawsuit.

Randal Worcester, 27, was overpowered and beaten by three police officers on August 21 at a gas station in Mulberry, near Little Rock.

He was taken to hospital without serious injuries and charged with assault, resisting arrest and breaking and entering.

Worcester’s stepfather, Eric Whedon, told The Daily Beast that the case needed to be “covered by the media.”

The U.S. Air Force veteran, who raised Worcester as his own son, added: “I hope they are exhausted. Enough is enough.”

Three officers, Deputy Zucker King, Deputy Levy White and Mulberry Sergeant Ser Riddle, were suspended after the video surfaced.

They were called to a gas station after reports that Worcester, South Carolina, threatened a worker with “slashing his face” and spat on staff.

The responding officer said he allegedly pushed an officer to the ground and punched him in the back of the head when several officers approached him to confront him.

Worcester was already handcuffed by police when they launched the savage attack on Worcester.

All three officers were involved in the incident, but Riddle in particular could be seen attacking Worcester.

The senior officer can be seen beating Worcester repeatedly along with two others.

Riddle worked as a police chief in a small town in Gans, Oklahoma, before starting as a police officer in Marbury in 2017.

The video was shared and viewed more than a million times in a single day, prompting state police to investigate the incident.

Worcester was rescued by his family, who later discussed whether he would take legal action against police.

Sources told TMZ that the family has spoken to multiple attorneys and that Bobby DiCello, a lawyer from Cleveland, Ohio, is reportedly planning a trip and speaking to Worcester. DiCello called the suspension of the three officers a “good start,” but he did not rule out legal action.

Mulberry City Mayor Gary Baxter said he was “shocked and disgusted” and promised a full investigation.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has also promised the state will find out.

The investigation will determine whether the officials justified the use of force and face charges.

“We are cooperating with all aspects of his investigation and will issue a statement to the public at a later date,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

Worcester, meanwhile, was charged with second-degree battery, first-degree assault, resisting arrest, possession of an instrument of crime, trespassing, criminal mischief in the second degree, terrorist threat in the first degree and assault. second grade.

He was pictured leaving the Crawford County Jail on Monday after posting $15,000 bail with a burst blood vessel in his left eye, possibly the result of a police attack.

The photo shows the suspect, 5-foot-11 and 145 pounds, surrounded by reporters asking questions about the incident, accompanied by his attorney, according to prison records.

Video of the brawl outside the Kountry Xpress on Georgia Ridge Road shows Riddle punching him in the head with a clenched fist even after being restrained.

The Justice Department has launched a federal civil rights investigation into the incident.

Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damant issued a statement late Sunday that two county representatives were suspended amid the state police investigation into the incident and an internal review by the sheriff’s office.

Officer Mulberry was also suspended.

“I hold all my employees accountable for their actions and will take appropriate action in this matter,” Damant said.

In a statement issued Sunday night, Sannon Police Chief Shannon Gregory said officers involved in the incident were on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The City of Mulberry and the Mulberry Police Department take these investigations very seriously,” Gregory said.

Naomi Johnson’s sister said she arrived at a gas station when she saw a barefoot man sitting on the sidewalk talking to police, The Arkansas Times reported. She then saw the man get up and try to escape, but was knocked over.

Johnson’s sister reported that she thought the man appeared to have a mental problem, The Arkansas Times reported.

Johnson’s sister was in the car with a friend at the time, the newspaper reported. The couple in the video can be heard yelling at police to stop beating the man.

It’s hard to pick up the audio from the footage, but it appears that an officer is telling those in the car to “stand back.”
