Why did NFL star Nasir Adderley suddenly announce his retirement at the age of 25?
The Chargers selected Adley with the 60th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he has since appeared in 50 games for the team.
Although Adderley is a free agent, he chose to retire from football rather than pursue free agency. Announcing his retirement, Adley wrote:
After a period of self-reflection, I decided it was time to step away from football. “
Nasir further stated that he has been in denial of reality for the past few years, but for a time he was prioritizing himself. Everyone around him understands that his health comes first.
He went on to say that knowing that he truly understood his calling convinced him that he was no longer part of the team.

His goals are to own a business, spend more time with his loved ones, and pursue his desire to be truly liberated.
Adele decided to leave the NFL after agreeing to a four-year, $4.7 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019.
In his retirement announcement, Adley announced that he was no longer interested in work and that his health should come first.

He played college football at Delaware State, was selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and attended Grand Canyon High School in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He committed to playing college football at the University of Delaware.
