Who is Ivy Lynn Lee?

A Louisiana mother charged with murder after leaving her child dead in a hot car did the same to her other daughter three years later, who she was forced to abandon.

Ivy Lynn Lee, 22, of Lake Charles, left her 6-month-old daughter Rissa in a hot car for five hours at work on Sunday.

The mother-of-two “pointed out” a police officer who told her daughter was “not breathing”.

Police began taking “life-saving measures” on the girl before taking her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

In interviews with investigators, Lee told two separate stories, first Lisa was initially out of her care but later admitted she left the child in the car while she was at work.

She gestured to police and told them her daughter (pictured) was “not breathing”. Police began taking “life-saving measures” and eventually took the girl to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“She knew the baby was in the car, so she chose to go to work and do a full shift. There was no excuse,” Calcasieu Parish deputy director Gary ‘Stitch’ Guillory told WAFB.

arrested and charged

“She claims she left the car driving at first, but then a colleague told her that her car was running outside and she didn’t notice and went outside and turned off the car.”

The agent also revealed she found marijuana in the car and believed she left the girl in the car “on purpose”.

Lee was charged with second-degree murder and marijuana possession and was booked at Calcasieu Correctional Center on $1.2 million bail.

Authorities also confirmed that the young mother had previously left Ella Avereigh’s other daughter, now 3, in a hot car in 2019.

Avereigh is now in the custody of a family member, according to the Department of Children and Family Services.

Li gave up the child “voluntarily”, “before the state had to step in”. Guillory told WAFB.

In May, the mother wished herself a happy Mother’s Day, writing on Facebook: “It’s never easy being a mother, but a child’s love is unconditional.”

“I couldn’t be with the amazing girl who made me a mother today, but [I know] She feels me every day.

“Avi, my eldest daughter, no matter what others say about you, my heart will always occupy most of you.

“And Risa, my youngest daughter, [I know] If you ever get a chance to meet her, you will fall in love with your sister.
