Gianno Caldwell’s teenage brother was shot dead in a weekend of violence in Chicago.

“Yesterday was the worst day of my life,” Giano wrote in an emotional Twitter post on Saturday.
“I got a call informing me that my teenage brother was murdered in South Chicago. I can’t imagine they would steal my brother’s life,” he wrote next to a photo of his brother smiling at him in his graduation gown road.
“What I’m currently looking for are police details to find out who murdered my brother. [My] Little brother never had a chance,” he said.
“I would never want to see justice or violence on the streets against the people who even murdered my brother. But I do want them to be brought to justice,” he added.
The news comes after a weekend of violence that killed at least four people, including a five-month-old girl.
Police identified the girl as Cecilia Thomas, who was hit in the head by another car near Chicago’s South Shore.
She was taken to hospital, where she died of her injuries.
A local business owner told ABC7 Chicago that the girl’s father stopped near 71st Street and Crandon Avenue about a mile and a half from the scene of the shooting after she started crying.
A 41-year-old man in another vehicle was shot around the eye and taken to hospital, but he is expected to survive.
In the first shooting of the weekend, a 20-year-old man was shot and killed near Shipman Friday night, according to CBS News.
Police said an unnamed felon opened fire in the 11700 block of South Princeton around 8:10 p.m., hitting the victim in the neck.
A 28-year-old man was shot and killed while walking in Washington Park on Friday night.
Police said the victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 59th Street around 8:18 p.m. when unidentified criminals opened fire.
Police found a man in Roseland with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to Advocate Christian Medical Center in critical condition by the Chicago Fire Department and was later pronounced dead.
Crime in Chicago is up 34 percent through 2022, according to the latest data from the Chicago Police Department.
Statistics show a 10% increase in violent crime, including murder, criminal sexual assault, aggravated assault and robbery, so far this year compared to 2021.
