Wesley Shontz Car Accident: Ohio High School student Wesley Shontz dies in Fatal Car Crash

According to a report from COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio, a local high school student died in a crash on Friday morning.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 report about a collision near the intersection of SR 16 and CR 6 in Jackson TWP was made at 6:08 a.m.

According to authorities, Wesley E. Shontz JR, 18, of Coshocton, refused to yield the right of way to incoming traffic while Stephen D. Imel, a 44-year-old male from Coshocton, was driving westbound on SR 16.

According to authorities, this led to Imel colliding into Shontz JR’s car on the driver’s side.

According to authorities, Shontz JR and a child passenger had to be freed from the car.

Shontz JR. was brought to CRMC, where doctors declared him dead.

The young passenger was taken to Genesis and then taken to Nationwide Hospital, where he is currently in in critical condition.

Imel was unharmed.

A student at Buckeye Trail was Shontz JR.

Jackson TWP Fire, Coshocton City Fire, Coshocton County EMS, Prince’s Wrecker Service, REACT, and ODO all provided assistance at the incident.
