We are fully equip to secure INEC officials, –

The Anambra Police Command has given assurances about security ahead of the state’s House of Representatives elections on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

National Police Chief Aderemi Adeoye gave an update on the security situation in the state in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune from the National Command in Amabia on Thursday.

Adeoye said he was impressed with the level of safety across the state ahead of the election.

According to CP, the men and women of the command work with our sister agencies in the state, DSS, NSCDC, FRSC and Immigration, to be fully prepared for national missions.

“Working with our sister agencies, we will ensure criminals are not indiscriminately a threat to the peace-loving people of this state during voting time.

“Nigeria Police is always ready for any national mission. We are fully capable of providing effective policing to protect election sensitive material. INEC officers stand against any attack, providing a favorable atmosphere for voters to exercise their suffrage and are present in all corners of the state and crevice patrols to ensure the safety of the people and ensure a successful election.

“Our deployment with other sister agencies will cover 5,720 polling places and 326 electoral districts in the state.

He urged all political parties running in state elections to raise awareness among their supporters to get them to vote rather than fight, and warned of dire consequences for those who may wish to operate outside the law during and after.
