Vanessa Hudgens reacts to Austin Butler’s awkward clash with Oscars

Vanessa Hudgens wants her fans to emulate Malala Yousafzai’s book after her awkward confrontation with Austin Butler.

After the ex-partners made headlines Sunday at the 2023 Oscars at Vanity Fair for seemingly ignoring each other, Hudgens took to Instagram to post Jimmy Kimmel at the ceremony with Yousafzai video of the conversation.

In the clip, the 55-year-old Oscars host asks the 25-year-old activist what she thinks of Harry Styles and Chris Pine’s Spitgate – only to have Yousafzai say he “just said[s] About peace. “

Hudgens, 34, is asking her followers to do the same.

“Let’s all get on the peace train I’m talking about,” the High School Musical star wrote. “About?”

Butler has been dating model Kaia Gerber since their split. For her part, Hudgens recently announced her engagement to MLB player Kortak.

Butler spoke cryptically about their previous relationship in May 2022, telling GQ that he was looking for a partner who had a “similar base” to him and wanted “the same things.”

That same month, Hudgens made fun of Butler’s Elvis accent, which he has retained since filming in 2021.

When one Instagram user wrote that Butler “went to Lady Gaga’s acting school for the Oscars,” the Disney Channel alum commented that she was “crying.”
