Tributes have been paid to a “dynamic” aspiring lawyer who is believed to have been murdered by a stranger just yards from her front door.

Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the killing of Zara Aleena, 35, in Ilford, east London.

Police said she was attacked on Cranbrook Road as she walked in the direction of Gantz Hill Station. She died in hospital on Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 2.44am.

A post-mortem report said Ms Elena “suffered multiple serious injuries”.
