UFC returns to Apex this Saturday for UFC Vegas 59, which will also take place Ultimate Warrior 30.
All of the fighters in the “Fight Night” card hit the scales on Friday, with just a little drama at the end of the weigh-in window.
Brazil’s Ariane Lipski will take on compatriot Priscila Cachoeira, who weighed 129 pounds in her first flyweight bout but has not can succeed. Lipski would make a second attempt behind the barrier, shedding an extra half-pound—but it still put her well over the edge. 2.5 pounds, to be exact.
Sam Alvey also missed the mark on his first attempt, exceeding the 187-pound non-championship middleweight limit. While Alvey didn’t try to weigh in with the handicap, he did go ahead with the cut after getting clearance from the medical staff and hit 186 on his second attempt.
