Rishi Sunak Must Stick To Promise To Publish His Tax Return, Demands Labour

Rishi Sunak is under pressure to finally release his tax returns as the Tories face a string of improper disputes.

After entering Downing Street, the Prime Minister promised to release his tax details, but has so far failed to do so.

“People would be concerned if they felt the Prime Minister was delaying the release of his tax returns, as he promised.

“He needs to keep his promises to release his tax returns for 2021/22 and 2022/23. If these promises are not kept, public confidence in politicians has been seriously damaged and will only be damaged further.”

In November, Mr Sunak made his tax pledge while attending the G20 summit in Bali. Asked by the Mirror if he would release his full tax returns, he said: “Yes, of course.”

The Prime Minister added: “It’s an established precedent and I’m happy to follow that. In terms of time, I’m going to have to talk to the Cabinet Office and find out the right way. But, yes, I have no problem doing that.”
