President Muhammadu Buhari will stay in Kano for two days to commission a 10-megawatt stand-alone hydropower project, an ultra-modern cancer center costing billions of naira, and a project led by Governor Abdullahi Omar Gandouj Five other projects implemented.
Comrade Mohammad Garba, National Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, revealed that the projects are electricity and cancer center projects
According to him, seven projects are expected to be completed during the two-day presidential visit to the ancient commercial city from the 30th to the 31st of this month.
He further revealed, “It will also reduce medical tourism for Nigerians who go abroad for cancer treatment and save the country foreign exchange,”
The commissioner hinted that the largest new bridge/overpass in the state, named after President Muhammad Buhari and aimed at alleviating traffic congestion as it is the gateway to the West, Central and East African country in the commercial city of Kano, will also be run by the President.
“The Mohamadu Buhari Interchange aims to alleviate the state’s tragic traffic congestion and facilitate African countries’ access to Kano through the road network,”
President Buhari will also commission housing for 700 teachers in Kano state to ease their housing challenges.
However, he added that other projects to be commissioned during the visit include: Dangote Ultra Modern Skills Training Centre, Dala Inland Dry Port and solar energy projects.
