Kassir and Halim point out that removing fat from the cheeks is irreversible, and while Su and Weinberger agree—for the most part—they say there are other ways to try to restore the facial structure to its natural appearance, this isn’t guaranteed.

“With fat transfer, removal of the cheek fat pads may be reversed,” says Su, who specializes in liposuction and body sculpting.

Weinberger, a national trainer at the Allergan Medical Institute, adds: “You could try replacing the fat with a collagen inducer like Sculptra or a hyaluronic acid filler—it’s really great to have a little fullness in the face because it gives us All young.”
