Many interesting duels have been added to Bellator 286.
In a press release issued Tuesday, promotion officials announced featherweights Aaron Picco (10-3) and Jeremy Kennedy (17-3, 1NC) as well as bantamweight Juan Acchu. Key match between Leta (25-4) and Enrique Balzola (18-6 -2).
ESPN News of the fight was first reported earlier in the day.
Additionally, UFC alum Max Rohskopf (7-1) made his debut at lightweight against Mike Hamel (9-5), while Islam Mamedov (21-2-1) will take on the former in another 155-pound bout. LFA champion Nick Brown (13-1).
Pico and Kennedy are trying to book the pair for the second time after Canada’s Kennedy withdrew from a previous bout at Bellator 277. Jackson-Wink MMA fighter Pico finally completed a third round via TKO to replace Adley Edwards on short notice back in April.
Currently, Pico is on a six-game winning streak with five of those six wins. In Kennedy’s case, he will be in the fight against former title challenger Emmanuel Sanchez. Kennedy is 2-1 overall in the promotion.
Former Bellator bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta will be looking to break two fights in his bout with TUF: Latin American champion Barzola. After losing to Sergio Pettis last year, Archuleta returned to action in April as part of the Bantamweight Grand Prix quarter-finals, but in an interim match with Lawrence Stotts Poor performance in the title race.
Balzola was also eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Bellator 286 will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California. The card is expected to be defended by Patricio Pitbull for his lightweight title against Adam Borics. The following battles have been confirmed as the event:
