Peter Obi reacts to violence during Gov‘ship election –

Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi has reacted to violence across the country during Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

Obi tweeted his concerns earlier Sunday, noting that he was saddened by the loss of Nigerian lives in the election.

Several incidents of attacks and voter suppression have been reported across the country, particularly in Lagos Statethe party built a strong support base ahead of the February 25 presidential election.

Obi prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.

“With grief, my heart goes out to the Nigerians who lost their lives and maimed for something as simple as participating in the elections. I pray and wish the wounded a speedy recovery,” he said.

“My sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. May Almighty God grant them eternal rest and give their families the strength of will to bear their irreparably sad loss.”
