NYSC demands protection of corps members during elections –

Brigadier-General Yishau Ahmed, director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Friday called for maximum protection for members of the Corps who are serving as casual staff in Saturday’s national gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

The NYSC chief made the call while visiting the head of Bauchi State’s security agency.

Recalling the violence recorded during the February 25 election, Ahmed thanked the state’s security agencies for their consistent support New York Stock Exchange.

However, he called for more support and protection for members of the regiment taking part in the exercise.

“I call for maximum security for our regiment members during and after the governor and state assembly elections, even until their regiments are in,” Ahmed said.

In his remarks, Bauchi State Police Chief Aminu Alhassan assured the NYSC DG that the command is committed to ensuring the safety of members of the state police force.
