Chime Harrison, a civil servant, dragged his wife Valeria before a customary court in Jikwoyi Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, on charges of desertion.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the petitioner made the allegation in his divorce application to his wife.
He claims his wife abandoned him and moved to an unknown location with their three children for 12 years.
“She and my three children were secretly moved from our marital home to an unknown location. I haven’t paid attention to my children for more than 12 years,” he said.
Harrison also told the court his wife had deprived him of his marriage rights.
“I’m not asking her to come back to me. I’m begging this honorable court to grant me a divorce and custody of our children.
However, businesswoman Valeria has denied the allegations.
Presiding Judge Labaran Gusau adjourned the case until March 30.
