Endeavor and UFC Donate $250,000 to Women’s Sports Foundation
Under the banner of Endeavor Impact, UFC and its parent company, Endeavor, donated $250,000 to the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) as part of a new partnership to advance “gender equality in women’s athletics.”
UFC officials made the announcement during a press conference last week.
An often overlooked element of the UFC is that once Dana White finally allowed women to fight inside the octagon, it has consistently produced some of the greatest stars in female professional sport, from Ronda Rousey (who crossed from Strikeforce), Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Amanda Nunes and “Thug” Rose Namajunas.
“We at the Women’s Sports Foundation are excited to join forces with Endeavor to demonstrate the importance of investing in women,” said WSF CEO Danette Leighton. “This partnership is critical as we work to illuminate the equity gap for girls and women on and off the field. Together with Endeavor, we will be able to deepen our impact and inspire more girls and women to experience the transformative power of sport.”
IMMAF inks sponsorship deal with Brave CF
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, an amateur governing body that has helped develop talent like current UFC star Mohammad Mokayev, has a sponsorship deal with Brave CF.
The goal of the new multi-year agreement is to help advance the inclusion of mixed martial arts in the Olympics.
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown was quoted as saying in a press release announcing the news: “BRAVE CF has contributed enormously to the growth of IMMAF, hosting three IMMAF World Championships and a World Team Championship [MMA SuperCup]. I am delighted that BRAVE CF has decided to take their support to the next level with this sponsorship deal.
“This support will allow the good work already done to continue and strengthen our position as the only legitimate international governing body for amateur MMA. Through mutual collaboration and leverage of resources, BRAVE CF will undoubtedly accelerate our continued growth globally and Olympic Approved.”
Earlier this month, IMMAF appeared to be in financial trouble following reports that they had spent all of the sponsorship money provided by the UFC.
This has been flying under the radar — things aren’t looking good for IMMAF, and they’ve helped produce some serious amateur talent, including Mohammad Mokayev (23-0 in Amateur). The 2022 IMMAF World Championships just ended in February. https://t.co/7yO0lhvAYF

McGregor doesn’t mind Michael Chandler, will ‘hunt him’ anyway
After coaching against the former Bellator lightweight champion Ultimate Fighter 31Conor McGregor says he doesn’t mind Michael Chandler.
“I don’t mind Mike. Honestly, I don’t mind him,” McGregor said recently on The MMA Hour. “I’m going to go after him, I’m going to hunt him down. He’s talking about coming out and putting me at a disadvantage. There’s not a single person on the planet who’s holding me back after the opening bell. So we’ll see what happens after that. Other than that Other than that, I’m happy with the game, I’m just happy to play, that’s all.”
That’s not to say everything was smooth sailing on the show. UFC president Dana White previously revealed that an altercation had occurred between the two fighters during the filming of the show, but McGregor played down the incident.
“We had a little bit of an argument,” McGregor said, suggesting it had something to do with the Irish boxer’s teammate Lee Hammond. “He was on the show, he was 5-0, unbeaten. So I played the game and it was just, it was emotional. Grumpy. But everything was fine, we worked it out. No problem. It was a great time The experience, all the contestants gave it their all. I am so happy and honored to be in my players corner and experience it.”
There is no date yet for a McGregor-Chandler fight, but “Mystery Mike” is expected to have a fight later in the summer.

Jake Paul’s coach shot dead in armed robbery
Benjamin Flores, a professional boxing trainer who worked with Jake Paul, was shot dead during an armed robbery last week Medellin, Colombia.
Flores posted a post-mortem video on social media after he held a gun to his temple. Flores was able to defend himself, but was shot in the leg – a better outcome given where the gun was originally aimed.
“Robbery at gunpoint…at a red light on the passenger side of Medellin, Colombia…with the pistol pointed at my right temple, I was able to move the weapon down and managed to get only one shot in the leg,” Flores wrote. “The hospital is now awaiting surgery to remove the bullet. Thank God I’m still alive. “
