United could be up for sale after 17 years under the ownership of the American businessman Glazer family as pressure mounts from the Red Devils loyalists.
The Glazers are reportedly plotting to formally announce their intention to vet outside sources of investment, which could in turn spark an all-out bidding war Super League giant.
according to sky news, investment bankers are being asked to advise and oversee a process that is widely expected to trigger a full or at least partial sale. One of the bankers reportedly claimed that the Glazers may soon issue a statement clarifying their position.
By announcing a review of the financial options they have, the Glazers will spark plenty of speculation about a sale of the club.
The news comes hours after United confirmed their most high-profile player Cristiano Ronaldo He will leave the club immediately following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, during which he took aim at everyone from manager Eric ten Haag to the Glazer family.
Ronaldo was brutal in explaining why he thought the Glazer family’s reign as bosses had failed, he told Piers Morgan Uncensored: “The owners, the Glazers, they don’t care about the club. I mean, professional sports.
“Manchester, as you know, is a marketing club. They’re going to get money from marketing. Sport… they don’t really care, in my opinion.”
