Labor’s presidential campaign committee has explained how the campaign of the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi was attacked after a rally in Katsina State on Monday.
In a statement issued by its media chief Diran Onifade on Tuesday, the committee said the party’s campaign team was attacked after the former Anambra state governor addressed women at a town hall meeting in the state.
beltAccording to the council, he was attacked by some hooligans on his way to the airport.
It urged security agencies to investigate the incident to prevent future recurrences.
“While Obie was on his way to the airport, hooligans hit our candidate’s vehicle with heavy rocks from the driver’s side, causing serious damage to the vehicle,” the statement read.

“To the glory of God, neither Obi nor any other occupants of the vehicle were injured.
“Subsequently, another group of thugs also threw rocks outside the stadium, damaging several vehicles, including those of our official stage staff.
“These two incidents taken together lead us to suspect that these attacks may have been premeditated at the behest of desperate politicians who have been deluding themselves by claiming they have locked down the North West, but are now alarmed by the show of force of the Obidient movement in the region. .”
