The Katsina State Government has declared Thursday 26th and Friday 27th January 2023 as public holidays in anticipation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s official visit to the state.
In a press statement to journalists issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Home Affairs, Alhaji Sani Bala Kabomo said the holiday was announced to allow state and local Government servants were able to give a warm welcome to the President.
However, the statement excluded banks, federal civil servants and all essential workers.
Kabomo further stated that the holiday was declared to allow civil servants to give a warm welcome to President Buhari for his official visit to the state.
A continuation of the press release, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina authorities, through a statement issued and signed by Mohammed Yusuf Abubakar, directed students to sit their second semester exams, the writing exam on Thursday 26 January and Friday 27 January, These exams have been moved to Monday 30 January 2023 and Tuesday 31 January 2023 respectively.
Abubakar wished the President a smooth and successful official engagement, a pleasant stay and a safe return to Abuja.
