Saturday’s UFC 283 PPV card kicked off with a pyrotechnic-potential light-heavyweight matchup between Johnny Walker and Paul Craig.

With Walker at home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has the perfect opportunity to build on his recent victory over Ion Cutelaba. Scotland’s Craig is looking to pull off another slick submission in hostile territory against the tough Walker.

After a brief fumble, Walker hit his opponent in the jaw with a stiff right hand, and Craig fell to the ground. Walker then rained down on the ball, effectively ending the game midway through the first round.

He watched Walker dance the “worm” during the postgame celebration, despite the fact that he’s been injured performing the victory dance in the past.

The 12th-ranked Walker is now on his 2-match winning streak and will be looking to meet an opponent in the light heavyweight top 10 next time he steps into the octagon. Although there is still some way to go before claiming the title, Walker has set the bar high for himself and has set his sights on the prize: a UFC gold medal.

“I’m a guy who can generate power from anywhere. I don’t need space, I don’t need anything,” Walker said after the game. “I don’t give a fuck. It’s my department now,” he added when asked what’s next.

“I want to be like Cormier. I want two belts,” Walker told Daniel Cormier in a postgame interview.

Craig, who fell to 16-6 after his second straight loss, may reevaluate and revise his game plan ahead of his next fight.

Official result: Johnny Walker def.Paul Craig TKO (ground and pounds) Round 1, 2:16
