Leeds United boss Javi Gracia has hinted that Darko Giaby will be in contention for a place in the Premier League due to Tyler Adams’ injury.
The Whites return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molyneux.
Last weekend’s draws with Brighton and Hove Albion were not a bad result by any stretch of the imagination – especially with the Seagulls now in the top four.
Leeds are still second to last in the Premier League table and really need a win to avoid relegation.
Three points will be huge this weekend, but Leeds will have to play this game without midfielder Tyler Adams.
The United States international was sidelined with a hamstring injury and left a big hole in Leeds’ midfield.
Darko Gyabi in contention for Leeds United
Javi Gracia seems likely to form his Wolves midfield duo alongside Marc Roca and Weston McKennie.
Leeds do have other options, though, which would involve Gracia calling on one or two young players to take a big step.
Gracia now told the Yorkshire Evening Post Darko Gyabi is “an option” to replace Adams on the team.
Gracia points out that Gyabi played the role during training at Leeds, so he at least considered it before moving to Molineux.
Jabi, 19, joined Leeds from Manchester City last summer and has long been tipped to be a star.
Jaby’s future looked bright at Millwall before leaving in 2018, where he showed promise at City but was allowed to leave last summer.
Leeds agree £5m deal with Jabyhighlighting the midfielder’s potential in his dressing room.
Jaby has only featured seven minutes in the Premier League this season but has impressed in Premier League 2 and the teenager will be in contention for the Whites this weekend.
