IPL 2023: Michael Bracewell joins RCB as replacement for Will Jacks

NEW DELHI, March 18 Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell as a replacement for England batsman Will Jacks for 2023. Indian Premier League (IPL).

Jakes was signed by RCB for INR 3.2 million at players auction but he suffered a muscle injury in England’s second ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur. He was forced out of the IPL after a scan and expert consultation.

His replacement, Bracewell, has played 16 T20Is, taking 113 runs and taking 21 wickets for New Zealand.

Bracewell, 32, who has never played in the IPL before, will join RCB for a base price of INR 1 crore.

Royal Challengers will play their first match of IPL 2023 against Mumbai Indians on April 2. This will be their first game since May 2019 at their home stadium, Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
