The Imo Police Command said it has launched a thorough hunt for Obiro who was involved in the brutal killing of All Progressive Congress (APC) President Christian Ihim and a female police officer Chinyere in the state’s Onuimo Local Government Area Umuchoke Okwe district.
Ripples Nigeria reported on Tuesday that unidentified gunmen killed Ihim at his residence in Onuimo and kidnapped six people there.
Obilor was also shot dead when he was attacked by hooligans at Ihitte Junction on Owerri-Aba Road in Owerri on Wednesday.
Responding to the incident, state police spokesman Henry Okoye vowed to arrest the killers and bring them to justice.
Okoye urged residents with information on the offender to contact command so immediate action can be taken.

He said: “Some criminals attacked the APC Ward Chairman at his home on January 25th and killed him. Our officers in Onuimo went to the scene, recovered the body and deposited it in the mortuary. Investigations have been started to arrest the escaped murderer.
“A female police officer was also killed in a fierce shootout. Gangsters attacked our personnel on Aba Road. The criminals abandoned one of their cars, which we found.
“Commissioner Policemen Enlist the support of all residents and First Nations in Imo State to fight criminals. Anyone with useful information can call the command’s emergency number for immediate attention. “
