Koenigswarter shared a statement that reads “On behalf of our family, it is with absolute grief that I announce the death of my mother Lydia De vega.” She later mentioned the date and place where Vega breathed last. Along with that she also mentioned the brave battle of her mother against breast cancer and later she prays for her. In addition to this, Vega was diagnosed with breast cancer in the year 2018 and her treatment started then. She was aware that it wasn’t going easy for her but still she carried on with all of her courage and a smile on her face.
The family of the sports icon also urged all of her fans to assist the sports personality in managing De Vega’s highly expensive treatments.
