Gina Gershon jokes ‘countless’ women have proposed since ‘Relationship’
Gina Gershon says she’s been interested in sophistry since “Bond” was released.
The 60-year-old joked that “countless” women have proposed to her since the neo-noir thriller was released in 1996.
“When it comes to groupies, I’m always amazed at how different men and women are,” Page Six says EXCLUSIVELY at the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Series concert.
“I find it funny. It’s all very endearing.”
However, Gershon told us that while she met “a lot of good people,” she had to politely shut them up.
“No one should throw themselves at anyone, and if you don’t know them, it’s wrong!” she advises. “I felt like I was teaching them, ‘You shouldn’t be doing this! ‘”

In the film, Gershon plays an ex-con named Corky who begins a secret affair with Violet (Jennifer Tilly) as they plan to steal from her gangster boyfriend, Caesar (Joe Pantoliano). Steal money there. The film became a beloved lesbian film.
Gershon also attracted a lot of male attention, especially for her role in the classic camp flick “Showgirls,” which initially received rave reviews and was a box office flop.
“I think the funny thing about Showgirls — it’s a good lesson — [is that] People just want to kill him. They really wanted to talk about it, especially to the media, and now they can’t interview me without asking,” she explained.
“So it just goes to show, without offense, that you really can’t take the media and journalism too seriously.”
However, Gershon noted that she was “very aware” of what was going on with “Showgirls” at the time.
“So I made sure I immediately went into a movie that came out around the same time, and that movie was ‘Binding,'” she recalls. “My agent was shocked: ‘Why are you doing this movie? I said, ‘Trust me, I have to prove that I’m really an actor,’ even though I felt very secure about my job.”
She continued, “I did everything I could on Showgirls, but I also couldn’t control what it was. I always thought it was kind of funny, but everyone took it very seriously, and I think it’s a big problem .”
At a fashion event where we met Gershon, the actress also told us she’s trying to stay active. This star-studded evening aims to raise awareness of the importance of women’s heart health.
“If I don’t move, I feel terrible. I find that as I get older, it becomes more and more important to stretch and stay active, just to keep things going,” she says. “I’m currently trying to eat healthier instead of just chocolate pudding and chocolate chip cookies.”
The “Riverdale” actress coyly admitted that the treats are a big part of her diet, adding: “This is a big step up for me. I’m trying to cut down on sugar!”
