Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Fraser Foster has been called up by England as a backup to Newcastle United’s Nick Pope.
This is according to The Athleticwho claimed Pope had withdrawn from the England squad due to injury.
It’s unclear what Pope’s injury is but he did play the full 90 minutes for Newcastle at Nottingham Forest on Friday.
Gareth Southgate was forced to adjust and called up another goalkeeper to replace Pope.
Southgate has decided to go with Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
The 35-year-old will now compete against Jordan Pickford and Aaron Ramsdale in the upcoming international break.
England face Italy and Ukraine next week, with Foster joining Tottenham team-mates Harry Kane and Eric Dier in the squad.

Foster, who joined Tottenham last summer, could not have foreseen this moment.
The veteran left Southampton at the end of his contract and decided to join Tottenham on a free transfer.
