One slain pensioner His dog has been named by police when they were hit by a truck on a Scottish road.
John Ward, also known as Jack, walks his dog Benji at the junction of Ayr Road and Pleasantfield Road, in Prestwick, when the incident occurred on Friday, September 9 at around 9:25 am. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but both the 83-year-old and Benji died at the scene.
Photos taken show police and ambulance crews in the area, with a cordon set up at the scene. Officials said their investigation into the crash is still ongoing and they are appealing for witnesses.
A report will be sent to the prosecutor financially.
Ayrshire Road Police Constable Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Ward’s family and friends during this difficult time. An investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the incident and I will Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is urged to get in touch with us.
“We’d also love to talk to anyone who might have dashcam footage.
