Ebonyi APGA governorship candidate denies withdrawing from race –

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Ebonyi state governor, Professor Bernard Odoh, said he was not stepping down for any other candidate.

Odoh clarified on Saturday in a statement signed by his media and communications director, Charles Otu, that he was responding to a viral text allegedly circulated by PDP operatives on Saturday morning, The text reads: “BREAKING NEWS!!! Prof. Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh has just dropped out of the Guber competition at ANYI CHUKS. Join the winning team. Vote for the PDP and make Ebonyi better.”

Odoh, considered the leading candidate, insists he has performed well in the race and cannot and will never step down for anyone.

The statement read: “We on the All Progressive Major League Campaign Committee, APGA Governor’s Candidate, Professor Benard Odoh, also known as the Odohzia Campaign Committee, want to ban ebony and voter opposition to texting in particular and make our tour governor Candidates have given way to candidates from any other party.

“While in a viral text message by an agent of false and dodgy propaganda, the PDP claimed that he was “stepping aside” for their own candidate, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, some APC media mobs also posted a viral message on Facebook late yesterday. The post claimed that the APGA gubernatorial candidate was no longer in the race and that he did not support “fairness.”

“We wish to dismiss these publications and information as false and designed to mislead some uniformed voters Ebony.

“Professor Benard Odoh not only ran but was the leading candidate in today’s poll. Ebonyi voters are therefore encouraged to go all out and vote freely for a credible candidate whom he strongly supports.

“They should also remain vigilant and vigilant to protect their votes from any form of manipulation or manipulation by any political party or group.”
