Julia Stolyarenko welcomed Chelsea Chandler to the Octagon during Saturday’s 140-pound heavyweight bout at UFC Vegas 61.

Chandler, an Invicta FC alumna, won four straight games to earn herself a spot on the big show. The rookie was originally booked across from Leah Letson, but as Stolianrenko stepped up in relatively short time, the game was lifted by five pounds to compensate.

Chandler played in the first round. However, she did just get into a string of outputs and was defeated by Stolyarenko. Stolyarenko went up the mountain and quickly found a handrail. It was a mistake because she put Chandler at the top of the list.

Chandler was hitting the ground hard before walking away, trying to fight back. Chandler kept shooting forward, forcing Stolialenko to shoot. Chandler defended and turned to Stoliarenko to land on the hill. Stolyarenko was able to quickly kick Chandler away and get back on his feet. Chandler’s pressure broke Stolyarenko, and Stolyarenko was lazy again. Chandler turned to her again and landed on the hill. Chandler rained from there and slammed from there until the referee stopped the fight.

“It’s hard to get down to 35, and I can do it, but there are 45-year-old girls,” Chandler said after the bout, and she would compete in a featherweight bout within a month if given the chance.

Official result: Chelsea Chandler beat. Julia Stoliarenko, TKO (ground and lbs), round 1, 4:15
