Many consider JIRI PROCHAZKA’s victory over Glover Teixeira to be the greatest UFC fight ever.
The Czech Republic’s star submitted his opponent with 30 seconds left to become the new light-heavyweight champion, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Going into the fifth round, Teixeira had a two-point lead on two judges’ scorecards.
Prochazka became the first man from his homeland to win a UFC title under Dana White’s promotion, but he was forced into a submission in the closing stages.
Following the thrilling finish, viewers took to Twitter, with one proclaiming: “One of the best moments in MMA history.” “What an incredible fight.”
“Unbelievable finish to a unique fight,” wrote another. If it had gone to the score cards, Jiri’s poor decision-making and round management would have cost him the game because glover was leading.”
“Mad respect for both fighters for this incredible fight!” a fellow fan exclaimed. #UFC275,” says the fighter.
“What the f*** did I just watch?” someone else exclaimed.
It wasn’t just those who were watching who were taken aback by what they had seen.
“Prochazka vs Teixeira was one of the greatest title fights of all time,” UFC heavyweight Tanner Boser added via Twitter. That was absolutely insane.
