APGA candidate, Frank Nweke, dismisses rumours of withdrawal from Enugu governorship race –

All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Enugu Governor’s Candidate Mr Frank Nweke Jnr has refuted rumors that he has dropped out of the race.

In a statement issued by his media manager Uchenna Igboeme on Thursday, the former information minister described the rumors as the work of hoaxes.

The APGA candidate also dismissed claims that he had congratulated President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in last weekend’s election.

The statement read: “The surge of misinformation, slander and outright fake news directed at me in the past 72 hours is proof that my message of awakening in Enugu State has been embraced.

“There’s also an allegation that if I’m elected, I plan to approve pastoral ranches. That’s another lie.

“Their anger is that citizens have awakened and are ready to take back our country.

“I have not and will not engage in their character assassination and resentment politics in my campaign.

“Instead, I will focus on how Enugu will have water, how Enugu will be clean, how our roads will be clear, how our young people will start dreaming again, and how technology will be used to advance the progress of everyone.

“My focus is to let Enugu residents know that the Okuko Igbo-Igbo rooster symbol on the ballot is where they have to be fingerprinted on March 11.”
