APC tackles Obi over ‘false narrative’ on Nigeria’s election –

The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign committee on Friday accused Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of planning to steal President-elect Boral Ahmad Tinnub’s mandate through a back door.

belt And his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) opponent, Atiku Abubakar, rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of Tinubu as the election winner and challenged him in court. The program is questioned.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the council’s media and communications director Bayo Onanuga accused the Labor candidate of making inflammatory remarks about the election.

Onanuga said the former Anambra state governor, who lost the election badly, claimed he had resorted to tribal sentiments to grab what was not his.

He therefore urged security agencies to warn him against inflammatory remarks.

The statement read: “Defeated Labor presidential candidate Peter Obie is going around stoking passion and spreading lies as if he is still running for the highest office in the land, weeks after the drill was concluded and the winner announced .

“We are concerned by his recent media coverage on Arise TV and Channels TV in which he made highly misleading, grossly false and inflammatory statements about his disastrous election.

“We call on security agencies to warn him against further inflammatory statements, especially after he claims he is challenging the election results in court.

“From the false narrative that Obi has been pushing, he is the one trying to steal Bola Tinubu’s mandate, unabashedly appealing to tribal and religious sentiments, and exploiting his disgusting penchant for boldly lying to rob his stuff.

“We believe Obie’s televised statement was biased against the case he brought and held in contempt of court. Only a desperate politician like Obie would embark on his course of action: seek justice in court while at the same time begin to blackmail and intimidate the judiciary.

“He is trying to present his case in court as a helpless, hoodwinked victim of the ‘system’ and stripped of his mandate by the INEC. By the democratic definition he serves himself, he is trying to position himself as ‘winning the people”, a candidate who is loved by the people.

“Finally, we recommend that Mr. Obi stop attacking the integrity of elections simply because he did not win the majority of votes and the spread of the Constitution in 24 states. unrealistic hopes of recapturing the presidency.

“We also recommend that NBC warn the network to give Obie a platform to delegitimize a free and fair election when he takes his case to court.”
