Amy Henig’s career
Hennig has been in the video game industry since the late 80’s. Much of her early work included games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where she worked primarily as an artist and animator. Her first job was as a freelance artist for Electrocop, an unreleased Atari 7800 game based on the Atari Lynx open title. She joined Electronic Arts as an animator and artist, working on an unreleased title, Bard’s Tale four and Desert Strike. She later turned to designing and directing video games.
After being hired by Electronic Arts for 2 years, she was an artist for Michael Jordan; Chaos on the Windy City. She got the job when the lead designer quit. She moved to Crystal Dynamics to assist Silicon Knights in developing Blood Omen; Kain’s legacy in the late 1990s. She serves as Director, Producer and Writer for Legacy of Kane; Reaper of Souls. She directed and wrote Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain; Contempt.
She left Crystal Dynamics as creative director at Naughty Dog and contributed to the Jak and Daxter series before becoming game director on Uncharted; lead writer and creative director on Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2, Among Thieves’ Uncharted series, where she led The 150-person game team, as well as the writers. She left Naughty Dog in 2014 after directing and writing for Uncharted 3, Drake’s Deception and beginning development of Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End for PlayStation 4.
On April 3, 2014, Hennig joined Visceral Games with Todd Stashwick to work on Project Ragtag, a Star Wars game. Change. She announced she was leaving EA in January and started a small studio to explore options including virtual reality games.
